Montpellier Wines Tulbagh - Food and Wine Pairing Event - Day 2

Following on from our post yesterday regarding our next Food and Wine Pairing event on Saturday 1 June 2019 with Montpellier Wines of Tulbagh, the next pairing is with the Montpellier 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, a ruby red, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, wood matured for 12 months. It is complemented by ripe dark berries with hints of eucalyptus, mint and classic aromas of pencil lead, finishing with soft tannins and a great mid-palate gravity and length. On the nose: Sweet spices, mint and berries with a gentle oak undertow. On the pallet: Cinnamon, blackcurrant and blood plum. Sweet-savoury with a balance of acidity and soft tannins. We have paired this wine with a spicy slow cooked Lamb rib dish. The lamb racks are marinated over night in fresh rosemary, olive oil, lemon juice and fresh chilli and then slow roasted and served with a plum and cinnamon dip and basmati rice.
