Groenland Pairing a great success

Guests were treated to some amazing dishes at GRAZE's latest wine pairing event held on Saturday 28 September 2019 and the event was held outside in the garden at GRAZE in almost perfect weather conditions, with no wind but very humid conditions. The event kicked off with one of Graze's specialties, fresh cut garden salad and this one was a sweet pear, toasted almonds and goat cheese salad with a guava fruit dressing and paired beautifully with the Landskap Chenin Blanc 2018. Next up was an asparagus bundle, fresh asparagus wrapped in farmhouse ham and puff pastry and served with a grenadilla cream dip which was paired with the Groenland Sauvignon Blanc 2018 Classic range and enhanced the flavours and textures of this great Sauvignon Blanc. Local Kudu back straps took centre stage on the next course were the straps were seared on the griddle and served on a wild mushroom and berry reduction, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot and pecan nut mash and a Madagascan green pepper sauce which complimented the Classic Range Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 perfectly. The straps were cooked to perfection and left on the rare side to soak-up all the amazing flavours of this dish. Finally, the desert was a vegan non bake chocolate covered strawberry and berry pie served with a berry sorbet and pulled the flavours of the Classic Range Shiraz 2017 beautifully and was the perfect way to end a very enjoyable evening in the garden at GRAZE.
