A classic Vegan dish

As I have mentioned recently we are receiving a lot more requests for plant based dishes in the restaurant and with this in mind we have created a classic, simple but very flavoursome vegan dish to accompany the next wine at our Food and Wine Pairing Event to be held on Saturday 27 July 2019 with Doran Wines of Paarl. The dish is a vegan green bean casserole, packed full of flavour and textures, with crispy french beans and cremini mushrooms. The wine, AYRA 2018, is a beautiful blend of Chenin Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne grapes and creates an explosion of flavours from the white pear, bright green apple and orange aromas and pairs excellently with the fresh green french beans, the earthy mushrooms and the creamy non-dairy sauce.
